Show ACHSA EGGERT SEN Elected Achsa 1925 to PAXMAN 1929 born June 1885 in Provo to Simon P. an Eggertsen, educator, and Henrietta Nielsen Eggertsen. When in the eighth grade, she won a prize in an elocution contest at the Utah State Fair. This recognition encouraged her to take elocution or speech classes along with her regular studies at the BYU and U of U which were oriented toward a teaching certificate. Her schooling was interspersed with working in her father's West Co-op and acting as a for which she had stenographer recei ved her and shorthand was typewriting certificate in 1922. three years she taught in elementary schools, taught summer in elocution to children's groups and speech classes at American Fork and Provo High Schools. She was appointed delegate to the League of Women Voters Pan American Convention in In Bal timore, Maryl and in 1922. September of that year she was appointed President of the Utah League of Women Voters. Achsa was In 1924, Achsa was vice chair of the Republican State Convention held in Salt Lake City and gave a talk to the convention. From 1925 to 1927 she was president of the Provo Women's Republican Club and campaigned in city and county elections. At a Republican banqet given in honor of Governor Charles R. Mabey, she was toastmistress for the occasion. She was Republican vice chair for Utah County for five years. Rep.
