Show Dr. Jane was an active club woman. She was a charter member of the Utah Businsess Womens's Club; member of the Ladies Literarr Club; state Council for Defense of World War I; Chairman of Sanltation for City Civic Club and active in the Women's Press Club. She was responsible for conferring an honorary degree from the B.Y.U. on Emmeline B. Wells, and organized women to raise the money for the bust of Emmeline in the State Capitol rotunda. $3000.00 was paid to Cyrus Dallen for the bust and the additional $100. raised was given to the University of Utah as a memorial loan fund for women. She was eleted to the legislature in 1912. She sponsored a bill providing sterilization of certain criminals and defectives and making an appropriation for the same.
