Show RHODA Elected GIBSON 1935 to 1937 (Rhoda) Gibson, a Democrat, was the third woman elected Carbon County in the statehood to represent legislature. Reva Grace Cooper and Reva Beck Bosone preceded her and in 1935 Bosone was again in the House but this time as a representative from Salt Lake County. Mrs. D.C. since it to be interesting and a challenge, but she found being a legislator also hard work. Late night and early morning and then meetings where you discussed the issues and bills, committee meetings starting at 8:00 a.m. Rhoda expected Being from Helper, she stayed in Salt Lake City during the week and home on weekens if the weather permitted. She met with her constituents, explored their desires and feelings, and returned to the capitol. went Rhodas assignments were Elections, Labor, Public utilities, the Industrial School and School for the Deaf and Bl ind, the State University and Agricultural College. To her committees she brought her own experience, knowl edge and bel iefs and a wi 11 ingness to learn. Helper was too far for Rhode to attend many OWL meetings but she did come occasionally and went to several of the national conventions.
