Show INTRODUCTION Women are a neglected resource. Neglected not in the sense that they aren't working they are. Most put in long hours rearing families, doing club and volunteer work, supplying labor to the business and industrial world, or combining those activities. They are neglected in the sense that their contributions to their community and government are not sufficiently recognized and in the sense that their full potential is not often developed. - their to women develop present brief sketches of women who have served in the Utah Legislature since statehood and listed along with that their accomplishments in other fields. With the intent of unsuspected capabilities, encouraging we of Wi th increasing enrollment of women in insti ti tutions higher learning and increasing awareness on the part of all women that they can make an intellectual contribution to the problems of our increasingly complex society, we present this book, hoping it will prove to be an inspiration to women to become actively engaged in their local, state and national governments as well as in their church, clubs and community work. It won't. We won't be hypocritical and say it will be easy. takes time, energy, funds and determination to be elected to any political office but if you have resources to give either in education or experience you should be willing to share them and give to the office you choose your loyalty and dedication. It rewards are further education for you and a satisfaction and appreciate and a public that will be can understand well served by the devotion of women who are giving of their time and talents to make this a better world in which to live.
