Show TWO Danquart Weggeland (American, born in Norway, 1827-1918) Red Bird Mine, Tintic Eureka 1888 Oil paperboard 11-1/4 X 13-7/8 in. Purchased with funds from Friends of the Art Museum UMF Al 992.025.001 CONDITION STATEMENT The paperboard panel is generally planar and strong, but there are small losses along the top edge and the upper right corner is partially lost. The paint layer is generally in satisfactory condition -- sound, secure and intact. There is a raised crack with blind cleavage at upper right and paint losses along the edges and in the upper right corner. A thick, very yellowed layer of natural resin varnish discolors the painted surface. |
