Show Portraits Evening for Educators March 20, 2013 5:30-8:30pm Utah Museum of Fine Arts Our galleries are bursting with portraits! During this workshop teachers will discover self-portraits, portrait paintings and portrait photography currently on display. Hands-on workshops will give you new ideas of how to include portraiture in your curriculum. The event will kick-off with a lecture examining the complex social relevance of portraits and how identity and status are expressed through portraiture. Hudnut UMFA 1951.005 The workshop is geared towards teachers in all disciplines and grade levels and is free with no prior registration necessary. At each of the Evenings for Educators, teaching packets containing images of art works from the UMFA collection, biographies of the artis~s and lesson plans with across-the-curriculum lessons created by educators are available for a donation of $5. State inservice credit is available to educators. By attending five evenings (15 hours) and completing a field test, teachers can receive one credit hour of in-service credit.
