Show news and exhibitions I Welcome Whitney Tassie The Museum is pleased to announce Whitney Tassie as the new Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the UMFA. Whitney began her work for the Museum this past August, assuming the important responsibility of trailblazing large, innovative curatorial projects that will examine art and ideas of our own time. Whitney hails from Illinois with a master's degree in Modern Art History, Theory, and Criticism from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. During her time in Chicago, Whitney developed an impressive resume of creative curatorial practice over almost a decade. The UMFA is thrilled to have such a dedicated curator added to the team.
