Show s • • fill ·-~· Flin 201 Spring Fling is an excellent opportunity to get to know each other better, spend time with our fellow docents/volunteers on other teams, and explore Utah's artistic and cultural resources. We hope you'll join us on Thursday, May 9th as we celebrate fine weather, fine company, and fine art with a trip to the Springville Museum of Art. On view will be the 89th Annual Spring Salon featuring the best of Utah artists. 9:30 ' am Meet in the Guardsman's Way lot to board our bus (Southeast corner of 1580 E. 500 S.).We'll leave at 10 am. 11:00 am Arrive and disembark at t~e Springville Museum of Art. We'll receive an introduction to the exhibitions from ;· Museum Director Rita Wright, Ph.D. M 12:30 pm Gather for a box lunch in the Museum's atrium catered by. ·.. ~ Magleby's. (Inform Ali of dietary needs.) 0 1:30 pm Board busses for the return trip to Salt Lake City. C\I bO Springville Museum of Art: The history of the SMA began in 1903 with the donation ' 1 of art work to Springville High School by Museum founders Cyrus E. Dallin and Joh~ Hafen. The Museum now houses nearly 3,000 works; 2,000 of which are Utah a·rt. Twentieth Century Russian-Soviet Socialist Realism, a collection of 150 years of Utah art, and American Realist art comprise the permanent collection. As official State Wide A~ Partnership headquarters, the Museum is home for visual art educational outreach programs to the schools of Utah. A variety of exhibitions, concerts, programs and special events are offered throughout the year. ~ • ....-4 I ~ ·bO Spring Salon: A long-standing tradition, the Museum's Spring·Salon began in 1922 ·arid continues to be the foremost showcase of Utah art in the state. SMA invites all Utah artists to submit works in any style or media for consideration by their jurors. RSVP to Ali (801.581.3580 or alexandra.monjar@umfa.utah.edu) before April 30th.
