As the State of Utah's official art museum, we strive to create a program that excites, inspires, and enriches the lives of our residents and visitors. Your generous investment in the UMFA helped to make art and ideas come alive for more than 150,000 people in the past year; and we thank you! Following a wild and fun summer of racecars at the UMFA, we are surrounded this autumn by fantastic art Join us as we present paintings by American artist Dale Nichols in our beautiful Great Hall. Enjoy the remarkable retrospective exhibition of the work of seminal artist Nancy Holt (creator of Utah's treasured Sun Tunnels), and be sure to see the work of Emre Huner; the sixth artist in our salt series of contemporary art In addition, I'm delighted to introduce Whitney Tassie as our new Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the UMFA! Whitney comes to the UMFA from Chicago with an impressive resume as a contemporary curator; and looks forward to engaging and growing Salt Lake City's art scene. Be on the lookout for her dynamic and thoughtful projects in the coming year. The UMFA strives to be a source of joy and a point of pride for the citizens of our state.
