Show "How do you tell off-campus people how much goes on at the University?" Dr. Maxwell is the administrator responsible for the twelve-plus areas of university-community interface. Dealing with the local community and relating it to the "U" is probably one of the most challenging aspects of our administration, and Dr. Maxwell, a member of the Class of '52, is well-equipped to handle it. A student of politics and history who still finds his disciples interesting enough to teach classes in it, Maxwell often deals with state, local and student governing bodies. He finds his greatest difficulty is communication. "How do you tell off-campus people how much goes on at the University?" Maxwell believes that more Student University community involvement is one answer. He is very concerned with the effects of mass education on the University of Utah, as is Jerry Anderson, Vice-President for Academic Affairs. Anderson, a lawyer, is working to generate and innovate new programs in and outside the University boundary. He works primarily with the day to day problems of establishing programs to improve institutional teaching and education on the vast scale. Jerry Anderson-Academic Vice President 303 |
