University Pacesetters are students nominated by their departments for outstanding performance within the department. "Performance" includes academic achievement, extra-curricular participation, and service to the department. This year, thirty departments out of a possible forty-four selected Pacesetters. Graduating Seniors who have put in large amounts of time in extracurricular activities and service to the University are honored by election to Beehive Honorary. Applications are accepted by Parry D. Sorenson, head of Campus Affairs Board's Beehive selection Committee. The Committee is composed of students and four faculty members. Normally seven to fourteen students are to be selected for Beehive, but this year's twelve is the smallest number in several years. National recognition of outstanding performance is provided by Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.
