Show Neal A. Maxwell-Executive Vice President Non-professional administrators havecandid, refreshing rapport "The Administration is of a non-professional type," says Provost Tom King, "as far as administration goes, though they are professionals in their own fields." This observation was often repeated in interviews with administrators. Provost King is originally a Doctor of Medicine, though he picked up his M.A. in Educational Psychology in 1963. He describes his office as an "odd job" position dealing with tasks not allotted to any office, and buffering the President from unnecessary details. King, who sits as President when Fletcher is away, is optimistic about the University, claims the "U" has better programs and faculty than Utah can really afford. The greatest problems on our campus, as he sees them are lack of understanding in the community and student involvement, both of which come right down the alley of Dr. Neal Maxwell, Vice-President for Student and Public Affairs.
