Joan Cannon NAIADS Shaping uptheship One of the goals of the Naiads is to make the group more of a military organization, and less a social sorority. The female sponsors of the Navy ROTC want to unify all the military organizations on campus; this goal is now underway with the initiation this year of a choir open to all ROTC candidates and women affiliates. Membership in Naiads is enhanced by the many social activities involved-dates with Midshipmen, "pirate parties," and so on. The fifty-two Naiads are selected through Rush in the fall; they are judged on interest in Navy ROTC and Naiads, personality, willingness to serve, and least important, GPA. |
