Show LU if) o Traditions past, present carefully observed and preserved A student saves a few dollars on books for the quarter with a visit to the I.K. Book Exchange; he snatches a Chrony from a convenient wooden stand on his way to class. The Old Block U is now new, whitewashed, and occasionally lit up at night. All are evidence that the Inter-Collegiate Knights are at hand, constantly pursuing their goals of service to the University community. All traditions of both past and present are carefully observed and preserved by this national honorary service organization of thirty selected young men. The requirements for membership are not too rigorous--a cumulative GPA of 2.5 to get in, and a 2.0 average to stay in. Along with its aforementioned activities, the Knights also served as ushers and sponsored a stomp to raise money for their projects. This past year saw the formation of the I.K. Little Sisters, who aided the men in their Christmas party for orphans and other functions. The I.K.'s also sponsored a Duchess Pageant in the fall, and a Miss I.K. Pageant in the spring. 266 |
