Show SIGMA CHI Derby Days takes on actives Using involvement as an index of excellence, Sigma Chi embarked on another successful year. Athletically, Sigs represented the fraternity on the football, baseball, golf, swimming, track, skiing, cross country and basketball teams. The Sigs were also represented on ASUU councils, Owl and Key, Skull and Bones and Beehive honoraries. The brothers continued with studies in an effort to retain the scholarship trophy. They have consistently achieved scholastic honors among the fraternity groups. Their social calendar was marked with a new approach to Derby Days. This year events were not limited to just sorority pledges, but active representatives from each house were encouraged to participate. They ended Autumn quarter with the Fall Formal, where the Derby Darling was announced. Events such as the western, playboy, pajama and greaser parties added variety to the Sigma Chi's schedule. In between times the Sigs found a few afternoons to spend around the card table, involved in a pool match, or a little informal discussion with friends. They have been actively engaged in programs both on and off campus the entire year. 222 |
