A third specimen was caught in the Botanical Gardens, Singapore. Ventrals 168 ; subcaudals 59. Colours (from spirit):- Pale brown above, shading to buff underneath, with eight very dark-brown longitudinal lines, those nearest the centre of the back are the broadest, blackest, and most distinctly defined ; the outer lines are narrow, light, and indistinct; tbe intermediate rows are transitional in width, colour, and sharpness of outline. There is a specimen in the British Museum from Singapore from Dr. Dennys. Hab. Southern India, Malay Peninsula and Archipelago. 47. SIMOTES SIGNATUS, Gthr. Simotes signatus, Giinth. Rept. Brit. Mr. Ridley has found this species in the Botanical Gardens at Singapore; two specimens collected by him there are in the British Museum. Hab. Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Borneo, Java. 50.
