Only one specimen of this Arctic species has been previously received, in 1880 (see P. Z. S. 1880, p. 538). The registered additions to the Society's Menagerie during the month of September were 125; of these 75 were acquired by presentation, 17 by purchase, 2 by exchauge, 13 were bred in the Gardens, and 18 were received on deposit. The total number of departures during the same period, by death and removals, was 88. |
