In size this species is exceedingly variable ; of thirteen females in Mr. Green's collection the smallest is 16 millim. in length, while the largest is 35 millim., or more than twice the size. One specimen, absolutely indistinguishable from the others in the colouring and sculpture of head and thorax, has the venation of the wings of Priocnemis: that is to say, the 1st recurrent nervure is not interstitial with the 2nd transverse cubital nervure, but terminates well before the apex of the 2nd cubital cell. 216.
