It is uncertain whether this can properly be termed a Nyasaland species, as the only locality that could be obtained for the type was " Upper Rovuma River, towards Lake Nyasa." The attention of Nyasa naturalists is particularly drawn to the question of the occurrence of Flying Squirrels there, as if any are present specimens are sure to be of special interest. 39.
