Show 1896.] FROM NYASALAND. 129 the upper surface and both surfaces of the male are quite typical B. agrippina : possibly the yellow on the under surface of the females may be seasonal; but if so it is characteristic of our winter months, the only awkward fact being that it reappears in July at Zomba; then, again, many specimens of the pale type were collected by the late Emin Pasha at Wadelai from January to March. Altogether the question of seasonal dimorphism in this species becomes very complicated. 84. HERP^ENIA ERIPHIA. Pieris eriphia, Glodart, Enc.
