That the withdrawing the petition was an act of the " majclty concerning this petition; the " petition by general refohttion was with- houfe itfelf, he feems to take for granted; " drawn ".l This is all we know of the matter from the journals: what was the ground of this general relolution does not appear; nor with regard to the relolution itfelt‘, is it perfectly clear what we are to underl'tand by it. The word " refolution" {eems to that the ground of this withdrawing, was a eonfcioufnefs of the want of right to do any thing in confequence of the petition, is another thing he feems to take for granted.
