I talked with Bill the day before the meeting. He and Fish & Wildlife Service were pushing for 55,000 a f of water for the major streams to be Impacted in the Bonneville Unit - Strawberry, Rock Creek, Currant Creek, W. Fk. of the Duchesne.Rivers. He hoped to get enough water flow from this 55,000 a f to have "extra" for the other smaller streams - Wolf Creek, Hades Creek, etc. He said the Forest Service felt that water should be asked for all streams and I said the Forest Service was right. However, DWR Is so much under pressure from the State that he felt this was the best they might do. However, I told him not to be intimidated by the Bureau saying it had to figure out what the costs to CUP would be for allowing this 55,000 a f of water! To hell with this! I think you of the 404 V^ have enough information in this material from Brian Beard, Sierra Club, and in the American Fisheries Society report on that river, to make a solid statement. (I've sent you this report.) Sierra Club has done a great job on this issue to date. Brian is probably getting advice from Tony Ruckle in Denver. He was to have met with him last week.
