Show Baldwin- D 1179 examination, and is contrary to the testimony this witness has given. MR. BLACKMAR: I disagree with you on that. THE SPECIAL MASTER: He said he had his chief trouble those four months. You can ask him about each month. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q What about the month of April? A April we had rains that would make these washes, wash some sand into the channel at times; I remember one time, I think it was in 1927, during April, thawing weather, there was a big rock fell from way up high on a cliff, I imagine five hundred feet above the river, landed in the river. That later gave us a little trouble; the channel finally shifted to that side. That was the only time, I guess. Q What about the months of June and July? A Well, high water is going down, you might say, and it is really the worst time then, because the bars begin to show up when the river falls; just have to feel your way along there. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q Which months are those? A That is in the latter part of June and July. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q What about the month of September? 3151 |
