Show Galloway- D 1064 BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q What kind of country is this in there between Hanksville and Greenriver, Utah? A Just a desert country. Q Are there any towns between Hanksville and Greenriver? No sir. Q Or are there any settlers in there? A There is one ranch, I believe, on the San Rafael where we crossed, was all; there might be two or three on down below, I never noticed, but there is one ranch there. Q Then you went down this North wash with your lumber and your supplies and built a boat there? A Yes sir. MR. FARNSWORTH: I don't understand where this wash is you speak of. MR. BLACKMAR: The North wash. THE SPECIAL MASTER: It is on this map just below the Freemont river. THE WITNESS: The Freemont river, that is the name of the Dirty Devil. BY MR. BLACKMAR: The other trips you had down there in Glen canyon to do this placer prospecting, did you go in the same way? No. The first trip I ever went through there, I went from Green River City, Wyoming, clear down; I think that was in 1911. 3036 |
