Show P. Galloway- D 1129 my father when I was a young fellow. Q When you were a boy? A Yes sir. Q How many times have you been in Glen canyon? A I have been through Glen canyon three trips; however, one of them was a good many years ago; I couldn't remember much about that. Q That was when you were a boy? A Yes sir. Q Did you have any difficulty in taking the Eddy party through Glen canyon? A Not a great deal; however, we found sandbars, but we had real high water, and the sandbars were more covered up. Q In that stretch of country did you stick on these sandbars? A Yes, we did. Q Frequently? A Nearly every day we would hang on a sandbar -- some of the boats would hang on a sandbar. Q What was the other occasion that you were in Glen canyon? You were in there once as a boy, once with Eddy. What was the other time? A That was the time I and my brother went in at North Wash. Q What was the purpose of that trip? A We was taking a party down there with us looking up prospects for running boats. Q That was Howland? 3101 |
