Show Galloway- C 1097 A I would judge probably twenty days. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Was it one or two boats? A Two boats. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q Where did you go in your boats during those twenty- odd days? A We went down the river. Q Went on a trip down the river? A Yes sir. Q How long was that trip? A How long a trip was it? Q Yes. A I don't know what the survey calls for. If I was telling you the distance, I would bay probably one hundred and eighty miles. Q What was the purpose of the trip? A We were placering, prospecting along down there. Q That was the part of the river you wanted to prospect, wasn't it? A We had a fellow by the name of Howland, with us. He wanted to look at the river, to try to put a sight- seeing boat on from Lee's Ferry up. Q He went along with you for that purpose, he wanted to see what the river was like? A He thought maybe he might navigate it with a steam boat, something like that. 3069 |
