Show Galloway- C 1107 more difficulty going up the Grand river to Moab than I did going down through Glen canyon. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q That was merely because one place you were drifting down stream, the other place you were pulling up stream? A I expect that would be it, yes sir. Q As nearly as you can tell, that would be it? A Yes, surely. Q Did you have any more difficulty in going from the mouth of the Dirty devil down to Lee's Ferry than you had in going from the mouth of the San Rafael down to the mouth of the Green river? A No, I don't think I did. I mean by that, there is no part of the river that a man, if he can boat it at all, and will use the proper precaution, that he will not run into the difficulties that exits there if he doesn't watch out what he is doing. Q There is no part of the river where, if he is careful, and know his business, where he will not be able to surmount the difficulty? A Oh, yes, there is plenty of it. Q You are back, all right, aren't you? You got back all right? A yes I am here. Q Did you ever have any experience on any other rivers besides the Green and the Grand? 3078 |
