A Fourteen feet wide or fifteen feet side; built out of heavy material; the sides were three inches thick, I think; the bottom was double plank, the plank left apart enough so we could caulk it with oakum. We built it very heavy, so it could stand the racket. At first we had it built square- end front; after-wards we put on a bow, pointed bow on to it, built it right on, so when we got in rough water it splashed over it; we had to have that bow on there so it would part the water better. First equipped with an automobile engine, for the first year; I think the second year put in a Walkushaw motor, more power, new paddle wheel.
