Show P. Galloway- C 1142 Q That is correct, isn't it? A Yes. Q You have done that? A Yes. Q Just how far up does this boating water extend into Wyoming? A I have boated up from the mouth of the Fontanelle; I don't know whether a man could run a boat any further than that; I haven't tried. Q That is as for as you have tried? A It was real shallow in lots of places from there down. Q Just what do you mean by boating water, Mr. Galloway? A By boating water, I mean I took my camp outfit and what little provisions I needed, and went downstream. Q By boating water you mean water in which a boat will run and carry you and your outfit along? A In places we find little strips we will go right along; in other places the boat will run on the gravel bars and sand bars. Q I understand that; I wasn't meaning any little interruption there might be, or places where you would have to do some thinking and some hard work, maybe, to get along, but you meant by boating water, water in which a boat would carry a man and his supplies along, didn't you? A Yes. Q As you get down into the vicinity of Greenriver, the boating conditions get decidedly better, don't they? 3114 |
