Show Galloway- 1118 to minimize the difficulty of that canyon, and I do not expect, although I don't wish to be bound by this statement, because I haven't seen our witnesses yet,-- I do not expect that our testimony with reference to conditions right at certain of those worst rapids will be very materially different from the testimony of the government. There is a law question presented there. THE SPECIAL MASTER: I was wondering if we hadn't now gotten a pretty good idea of the conditions in Cataract canyon. There is one question I would like to ask this witness. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q You came down through Cataract canyon twice, as I understand? A Yes sir. Q Each time did you have two men in your boat? A The first time I went down there was alone. Q You went down the first time alone? A Yes sir. Q If you can remember, approximately what weight of supplies did you have with you? A I don't think it would exceed five hundred pounds, camp and all. Q And the second time you went down with your brother? A Yes sir. Q And with about the same amount of supplies, or more? 3090 |
