Show Galloway- C 1102 AFTER RECESS. ( The hearing was resumed at 1: 30 o'clock P. M.) MR. FRARNWORTH: Shall I proceed, your Honor? THE SPECIAL MASTER: Yes. JOHN CALLOWAY was thereupon recalled to the stand for further cross examina-tion by M. Farnsworth as follows: Q Mr. Galloway, how far below the lowest rapid in Cataract canyon approximately is the wash from which you started on your trip where you built your boat there at the wash and took it down to Lee's Ferry? A How far is the last rapid in the cataracts from the North wash, is that what you mean? Q Yes. A I judge probably ten or twelve miles. Q Between that it is there at the wash, is it not, -- substantially, I mean? A Well, no, I would hardly think it would be exactly the same, for the reason -- Q I don't mean exactly, but there is not a very great differ-ence, is there? A It is more of a boxed condition up towards the mouth of the canyon. Q That is, the river is a little more confined? 3074 |
