Show Prommel- 1023 down the derrick, your Honor. BY CR. BLACKMAR: That is Shafer No. 1? That is Frank Shafer No. 1 well. It was then attempted to bring the well in, but the casing collapsed, due to the enormous pressure in the well. The well at that time was at a depth of two thousand feet. It was finally brought under control, and the people tried to produce from the two thousand foot horizon in which they were at first unsuccessful; they then drove the well to thirty- six hundred and twenty- seven feet, where some more oil was encountered. The casing was set, however, on the bottom of the well, and that oil horizon was shut off. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: I don't want to go into the various details of this well, but the any oil been actually produced? Yes, your Honor. What happened to that oil? That oil was used in the drilling as fuel for other wells. And has any oil been shipped out from any of the wells? No oil has been shipped out, no, your Honor. If there had been oil shipped out, it would have to be taken up the river by boat, wouldn't it? No, there was a pipe line survey made, your Honor. Survey made? 2995 |
