Show 5 9 2 ON NEW SPECIES OF PHYTOPHAGOUS COLEOPTERA. lid an equally narrow transverse band below the middle, extending to either margin. Hab. Bolivia, Peru. Closely allied to some of the varieties of the widely distributed H. cpquinoctialis Linn., but evidently quite distinct, as I have many specimens before me which show no variations. The species is larger and of more elongate shape, the small flavous spot in front of the humeral callus in H. cequinoctialis is absent, the dark elytral markings are linear and of different shape and entirely separated, not confluent, and the antennae are more robust and, like the legs, of a dark fulvous colour. |
