Depth of body 6 in the length, length of head 3|. Snout much longer than eye, the diameter of which is 5 in the length of head, interorbital width 3|. Jaws equal anteriorly; maxillary extending to below anterior | of eye. 8 or 9 branchiostegals. 13 gill-rakers on the lower part of the anterior arch. Dorsal 13 ; distance from origin of dorsal to base of caudal 2-.L in the length of the fish; length of base of dorsal equal to its distance from the caudal. Anal 9, commencing below the last 2 or 3 rays of dorsal, when laid back not reaching the caudal. Pectoral extending § of the distance from its base to the base of ventral. Ventrals 6-rayed, commencing below the origin of dorsal, extending nearly to the origin of anal. Caudal slightly emarginate. Caudal peduncle I f as long as deep. Uniform brownish (in spirit). ?
