Male greenish brown : fore wing with a dark brown line from the apex to beneath an irregular elongated transverse discal pale mark ; a short basal, two discal, and a third subapical transverse glossy-purple diffused bands, the dkcal band bordering the lower margin of the apical line and being confluent on the hind margin of the wing : hind wing plain brown exteriorly, the discal portion being black and having a broad irregular transverse orange-yellow band. Both wings of a uniform blackish velvety brown, bordered by well-defined cream-coloured cilia. Underside duller brown, with a discal line of ill-defined white-speckled spots, and a submarginal row of blackish spots, each bordered with a dentiform white mark ; a blackish subbasal spot on both wings, and a white subapical spot on fore wing.
