It is located on the southwest corner of 1110 South and State Street; the fa9ade looks east onto State Street or State Highway 89. The northe~s~~tons of the school were built in 1930 in an Art Deco~influenced style; they have re2( 'otick walls with concrete parapets. The southern sections of the building were built in 1954; the materials, form and massing of the additions are compatible with the 1930 building. There are seven/'portable classroom'/buildings on the school site, two are on the south side of the building and five are on the west side. These classrooms are all freestanding, temporary buildings. Located at the far north end of the building is the auditorium/gymnasium. This section has a rectangular footprint which runs perpendicular to the classroom wings on its south side; it is also the highest section of the building. On the north elevation, there are three pairs of two-story tall arched windows with nine-over-nine double-hung steel sashes 181 See continuation sheet(s) for Section NO. 7 |
