New building dedicated by President Heber J. J. Grant, January J, 1937. This building was used lor for 25 years and then the people unitedly de~lded to build a recreation hall on the back with class rooms In the bas6ment, underneath. The members of 01 the ward were donating their labor and means and the building was progressing under the able leadership of Bishop Edward Falrbourn In 15126-27 W1en when some tar which was being heated for the construction work work exploded and the entire enlire building burned to the ground. How sorry we all were \lV8rerI And W1at what a shock to the poor Bishop Tne Bishop went to see Pre.ldent President Grant Bishop.. and asked him what to do and President Grant said, "VVhy weill build another", "Why another II , and undaunted he called the Ward members around him again and a New Building was started again In 1927-28. 1927-28. This consisted of a o,apel, auditorium, Relief Society room, banlovely Chapel, quet hall, kitchen, lavatories and class rooms. Ward suppers and dramas etc etc.. were given to help raise money to pay for the building. Much credit must be given to Joseph Parsons, Edward A. Atwood, Alma W. Harrison, George Hyde, Homer W. Jaynes and many others for helping the Bishopric In their time of need. The people of the ward faithfully supported him. However, HO\lV8ver, the strain was too much and his health began to fall. He was released In 19J2 but under the leadership of Bishop Homer W. Jaynes and his counselors the money was raised and the new building was dedicated by President Heber Hebe,. J.
