Raymond J. Ashton was born in .. Salt Lake City, Jan: 23, 1887, "on the west side." His mother was Effie Morris Ashton, a daughter of Elias Morris, and his father was Edward T. Ashton. Both his parents were of pioneer Utah families. He attended F ran k II n school, being graduated from the grades in 11101.
