Show 21 21 20 20 And did Crescent grow? Why you'll hardly believe it but In in 20 20 years we had to have a larger school! ! ! Work began on the addition to the building during the summer of 1953. The addition was made on the south side of the building and consisted of 4 large modern classrooms, two large lavatories, a pr-incipal's office and waItwaiting room, a sick room and a large hall with 4 entrances. The class rooms in the other building were modernized and the entire building painted and refinished. The coal heating furnace was replaced with a gas furnace which made caring for the building much easier for the custodian. By 1957-58 there were 7 teachers employed. Lawns were planted on east and the north, and south side was black-topped for a playground for the children. PRINCIPALS OF THE CENTRAL SCHOOL 1. Soloman E. Smith 2. Orlando D.Ballard 3. Arvid J.
