Show Attention was called to the June 9 issue of DISCUSSION ON NEWSWEEK ARTICLE ON COLLEGE OF MEDICINE "Newsweek" in which appeared an article concerning the College of Medicine at this Institution. Several excerpts from the article were read by the President. Mr. William Patrick of the Tribune staff was asked for a statement concerning his knowledge of the article. He reported that Mr. Jack Goodman, local representative of Newsweek, had showed him the article which was to be run in the issue named, and he had advised him (Goodman) thathe had the wrong slant on some of the material he was using. After a discussion of the matter it was the consensus that although some statements were negative in effect, the article as a whole was laudatory and praised the College on its many accomplish- ments. The said certificate is in satisfactory form, and we recommend that the disbursements made, as so certified, be approved.
