Show Galloway- RD 1115 A Well, probably two hundred people there, one hundred and fifty, not counting Indians; I don't know many Indians are there. Q Where do the storekeepers get their supplies from? A I believe they must get them from Price. Q Do they use the river? A Oh, no. There is a ferry boat there where you cross. MR. FARNSWORTH: Where is this point? MR. BLACKMAR: Ouray, Utah. THE SPECIAL MASTER: Where is it? MR. BLACKMAR: It is up there right below Lodore canyon. Q What tribe of Indians are up there? A Uintahs, Utes. Q Do they have boats on the river? A I don't think they have, only there is probably four or five row boats around Ouray there at the ferry; they use them, I believe, for crossing back and forth. I haven't seen boats anywhere else on the river, there, that is, anywhere near close to Ouray, that I re-member about, anyway. MR. BLACKMAR: I think that is all, Mr. Galloway. 3087 |
