The National Register of Historic Places is the federal government's official list of historic properties worthy of preservation. Listing in the National Register provides recognition and assists in preserving our Nation's heritage. A public meeting will be held on at at the , to discuss the nomination of the proposed Clark Lane iiistoric District to the National Register of Historic Places. Representatives of the Utah State Historical Society will be in attendance to explain the purpose and effects of historic district designation and to answer any questions regarding the proposed action. All residents of the community and other 'interested parties are invited to attend. Those unable to attend the meeting are encouraged to express in writing their comments on the matter to Wilson G. Martin, Associate Director and Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer, Utah State Historical Society, 300 Rio Grande, Salt Lake City, Utah 84101. Comments must be received before the Board of State History considers this nomination on July I_isting of a property provides recognition of its historic significance and assures protective review of federal projects that might adversely affect 1.he character of the historic property. If the property is listed in the National Register, certain federal investment tax credits for rehabilitation and other provisions may apply. Listing in the National Register does not place limitations on the property by the federal government. Public visitation rights are not required of owners. The federal government will not attach restrictive covenants to the property or seek to acquire them. Enclosed please find a notice that explains, in greater detail, the results of listing in the National Register.
