IS76- Alexander Graham Bell exhibited the telephone at Philadelphia. IS77--Prophet Brigham Young died. IR78- - A. L. Clark. a member of the first Primary organized by Aurelia Spencer Rogers. 1879-- Edi.on invented the electric light bulb. 1883-4 - A. L . Clark att.nded B. Y . Academy at Provo. 1884-5 - A. L. Clark attended the Unive rsity of Utah. 1885-December 16. Alice Charlotte Steed a nd A. L . Clark married in th ' Logan Temple. 1887-November 17. A. L. Clark left for a mission to the Southern States. 1890-0n his return. he worked on the family farm. 1892-Mar c h 31. Davis CO'Ilnty Bank organized w it h A. L. Clark as Cashier and a total capital of $25.000. 1892-A. L. Clark appoint~d Farmington City treasurer, a position he h eld for the next twenty years. 1893- The Salt Lake Temple dedicated. Amasa Clark was in attendance. 1895-- Alice Steed Clark died. 1896- Utah finally made a state. 1896-Lagoon Resort established by the Bambergers. IR97- March 31. Susan Duncan and A . L. Clark were m a rried. 1900- A. L. Clark selected to be Superintendent of the Davis Stake Sunday School. At this tim~ all Davis County was one stake. 1900-A. L. Clark. representing the Davis County Bank. became a member of the Am ~ rica n Bankers Association and the Utah Bankers. 1903- The Wright Brothers flew the first plane at Kittyh awk . N.C. 1904-The Clark family went to the World Fair at st. Louis where they saw th' K 'tty hawk on display. 1908-12 - A. L. Clark served as mayor of Farmington. A. L. Clark made president of the Davis County Bank . the position he holds today. 1960 - A. L. Clark present<d a new bicycle on the occasion of his 95th birthday. Is it by the length of time it spans, the number of people it influ ences, 01' the numbe1' of good works it accomplishes? Surely it is a combination of these things, and probably others. There are those who live long and do little. There are others who aTe taken away just when their power /01' good is at its zenith, Then there m'e those f ew ?'are individuals who live long and useful lives that leave a mark on mankind for generations to come. He is truly blessed who finds the pattern on life that starts with usefulness in the early years and then is privileged tn live on lcith health and the ability to Se1've ill many ways. Such individuals tower above the c'rowd and set a mark to which others can aspire . Such a life has both length and depth. Such a life we honor today.
