Christenson Deseret News interior design writer WELCOME ..... Farmington City Corp. was organized in 1892. And this year, to celebrate the centennial, residents of Far- in 1855 is Farmington's second schoolhouse at 192 N. 100 East. The rock portion was added in 1875. Over 70 years later (in 1948), David and Leola Merrill purchased the building and transformed it into a lovely residence. Merrill tore down the adobe part of the structure but kept . . -the . room . .. with ... the ings in this year's tour include: • The Tithing Office, 108 N. Main. Built in 1907, this building was constructed in the Victorian Eclectic style. Over the years, it has been used for a variety of things. After it was a tithing offierfor the LDS Church, it housed city offices, then a library, and then a fire station. In 1970, the Farming. ton Lion's Club signed a 100-year lease and remodeled the interior. • The Hector C. Haight Home , 208 N. Main. The house was built in 1857 by Haight, the founder of Farmington.
