Show 7413 5392 Wolverton- D A I don't know; I passed through there just after the flood reached the river, probably three or four hours after the flood reached Green river; I went down to the town site bottom and right back. I think I got back two days afterwards, and there was no sign of any debris in the river. Q It had cleaned out in that time? A It had cleaned. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q That, of course, was an accident; but have you known of instances where washes in a time of flood or cloudburst or anything of that kind came down any of those side canyons bringing such amounts of mud or sand or debris as to dam the river entirely across, have you ever known instances of that kind? A No; never dammed the river entirely; it, however, filled the bottom to such an extent that the river would back up. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q To what extent have you known the river to be affected by a side wash, and for how long a period? A I think what I told about the flood coming down Tensile, as we call it -- THE SPECIAL MASTER: I think he went over that yesterday thoroughly. |
