A Yes sir. Q Have you done any of it yourself? A I have. Q What kind of crops do you know of as having been grown in San Juan county on dry farms? A Until recent years the principal crop has been wheat and oats; there has been some corn grown there, largely for forage for stock, but during recent years, the last two or three years, they have been growing beans and potatoes on rather a large scale in that region; the ground seems to be particularly suitable for that region; the ground seems to be it always has yielded well in winter wheat. Q How large crops of potatoes, how many bushels of potatoes per acre have you known of being grown on the dry farms? |
