Show 7449 Varley- D 5428 A The lower deposit runs, according to the drill cores, as near as I remember, about 2.4 and 2.8 per cent. Q By the way, do you know what the copper content of the Utah Copper ores are, approximately? A Hight now their milling ore is right around 1 per cent, as I remember, it is slightly less, probably two- hundredths -- probably one- tenth less than 1 per cent. Q I am referring to the Utah Copper Company that operates the Utah Copper mine at Bingham, Utah. A Yes sir. Q You understood that in answer to my question? A Yes sir. Q What is the known length and width of these deposits of the Big Indian? A In one direction we have measured three- quarters of a mile; in the other direction five- eighths of a mile, and our opinion is at that depth it is covered up by deposits of debris from the LaSal mountains, and the opinion of other geologists is that it will extent to an indefinite length towards the LaSal mountains, but it is exposed on the surface an area three- quarters by five- eighths miles now, and probably a mile from where the present workings are there are two shafts that have been sunk at lower depths which contain very high grade ore, what I mean by high grade ore would be about six to eight per cent copper. |
