A I think we did; I think we had, it is my recollection we had two small motor boats besides the Marguerite. Q What did you have loaded on the Betsy Ann? A Provision, supplies, tents, so on. Q What was the general nature of the provisions, food stuffs of various kinds? A Food stuffs, provisions, bedding, tent and cooking equipment. Q Approximately what weight would you sey was loaded on to the Betsy Ann? A Why, I don't think there could have been over two and a half tons, or three tons at the most. Q You are giving that as your judgment, two and a half or three tons? A I would think that would be the outside; that is being very liberal. Q Did you carry any freight or supplies in the other motor boat or in the row boats? A No. Q Did the other motor boat tug the row boats down? A No, they were moored alongside of the barge and the two scows. |
