Show 3955 Edwards- RC 1975 A That is a ferry boat. Q That is the boat itself? A That is the ferry boat; here ( indicating) is the cable. Q That ferry boat was there in operation when you arrived there? A Yes sir. MR. FARNSWORTH: I am afraid in my boyhood days I lived too far from water to know much about water. Q Didn't you take any pictures of the stream down through Glen and Stillwater canyons? A Yes sir; there was a great many pictures taken, but after the pictures were returned to Denver they were not developed; these were just a few that were developed to get a line on how the pictures were running. Those pictures laid in Denver for that twelve years-- those negatives, when I got possession of them, and somebody had opened them to see what they were, and exposed them to the light, and they were ruined, about three hundred of them. Q So the pictures taken on the expedition through the stretch of water below the cataracts and down until you got to Lees Ferry were spoiled? A Just a few were picked out a different points; we wanted to see what we looked like. Lots of the others were spoiled. |
