Show 4066 H. Zahn- D 2087 A I would say -- I would differ a little bit, if I understood him correctly -- I think it was about six or seven feet above the hight water. Q Above the hight water? A Yes, that is, high water up to that time. Q How do you estimate that, by the signs on the rocks, something like that? A Yes, and the high water I saw when I first arrived there. Q You were not there in 1909 or 1911 yourself? A No sir. Q Or were you in there during the intervening years, at all? A No, 1915 was the next time. Q Were there any marks when you went in in 1902 and occupied the houses for the first time, were there any signs of their having been flooded prior to that time? A No, no signs whatever. Q When you saw them next after the flood, whatever year that was, 1911, it has been testified, or whatever year it was, they were covered up with sand, debris and so on? A Yes. Q Was the whole level of the river there changed to that extent? A Yes, You mean straight across the river? |
